ABOUT THE ISSUE
OF POLITICAL TRANSFORMATIONS

This survey concerns the views of the inhabitants of our region on the changes in the socio-political system in Poland. The results are as follows:

  1. 73% of the surveyed describe their situation as average, 20% as difficult and only 7% as very good.
  2. 66% of the surveyed notice changes in their lives after the political system transformations in Poland and, according to them, these are positive changes.
  3. 100% of the surveyed do not want the come-back to the socialist system.
  4. 82% of the surveyed negatively judge the activity of the current governing elites.
  5. 55% of the surveyed describe the deepening financial diversities as a negative situation, 37% as a positive one, and 8% do not have an opinion in this matter.
  6. Opinions are equally divided in the matter of changes in the educational system.
  7. 88% of the surveyed think that, as well as public, there should be private schools. They motivate it with statements that: public schools cultivate long lasting traditions, but private ones introduce a new view on the world; they create competition; they enable education for a larger number of students, they influence the reduction of education costs born by the state budget, they serve to differentiate the educational system; they enable the selection of school they influence the reduction of education costs born by the state budget, they serve to differentiate the educational system; they enable the selection of school considering the financial situation.
  8. 91% of the surveyed favour the tightening of cooperation of Poland with the european structures. They state that: it will simplify further and quicker development in Poland; Europe should become one great structure without borders, and countries should start cooperation and help one another.

The survey shows that the socialist period in Poland has for good inscribed itself into the memories of the nation. People do not want to get back to those times and think that Poland should be going towards european structures.
